Private HTA/BT substation
For new developments, the power assessment of your project will determine whether a private HTA/BT substation needs to be built (see also the "connections" tab: Request for prior approval for the supply of a real estate development).
Transformer substations, like SMEG's works and interventions, are subject to UTE standards and applicable regulations, in order to ensure the safety and proper functioning of the installations. For these same reasons, this equipment must also comply with the constraints related to the public electrical distribution networks to which it will be connected. Thus, in accordance with standard NF C 13100, prior approval from SMEG must be requested for the planned arrangements before any work is carried out, both with regard to the choice of equipment and its location. Any modification to the initial arrangements must also be submitted to SMEG.
SMEG therefore encourages project owners to plan for this mandatory step during the design phase of their projects.

The prior approval request must be accompanied in particular by the following documents:
- Position of the substation relative to adjoining roads, and indication of access routes and the routing of supply pipelines.
- Diagram of the substation connections and earthing circuits.
- List of electrical equipment and their specifications.
- Plans of the room housing the substation, indicating the location of the electrical equipment, including the metering panel.
- Connection diagram for any other potential sources of electrical energy for the installation.
- Planned arrangements to reduce reactive energy.
- Planned arrangements for the metering panel.
The purpose of this recommendation is to ensure that the elements to be taken into account with regard to SMEG can be incorporated into tender documents, thereby avoiding any risk of modification to the planned works, additional expenses, or disruption to schedules. It is well known that the quality of execution, optimal budget management, and scheduling all depend on the quality of the studies and site preparation.
The commissioning of a private delivery or transformer substation is subject to the submission to SMEG of a commissioning request by the owner, incorporating the constraints applicable to the various operators. This request (for which SMEG will provide a standard form) must enable SMEG to verify that the consumer has ensured, with the assistance of an inspection body, that the delivery or transformer substation has been completed and accepted without reservation, and that it complies with best practice and current regulations, in particular UTE standards and safety regulations.
